A collaboration platform for commercial HVAC projects in Flanders. Belynked brings engineering firms, installers and suppliers together in one shared structure around the bill of quantities, with AI product matching. Encima co-founded Belynked.

Encima co-founded Belynked and builds the technology: the platform on Awen, our own framework, and the AI that matches the bill of quantities, the specifications and the technical data sheets. By choosing deliberately how and when we use AI, we kept the cost of that matching under control and divided it by four. Our CEO explained the approach in the weekend edition of De Tijd in July 2026.
Before: the challenge.
In commercial HVAC projects, engineering firms, installers and suppliers work together every day on product choices, equivalents and variants. That ran through email, chat and scattered documents, without structure and without traceability. Specifications were interpreted differently, equivalents stayed implicit and critical questions only came up during installation, when changes are expensive. Meanwhile, estimators looked up the right product for every line of the bill of quantities by hand.
What we built, and what runs today.
- ✓The bill of quantities is fully digitised after upload, from Excel, CSV or a direct integration
- ✓Engineering firms, installers and suppliers each get their own access and dashboard on the same bill of quantities
- ✓Every question, proposal and decision is linked to a specific line of the bill of quantities
- ✓AI matches the bill of quantities and the specifications and proposes a product per line from the supplier's own range
- ✓Technical data sheets are processed in advance, including charts and other visual elements where they matter
- ✓Every line can go to the engineering firm for approval, with reason, timestamp and a full audit trail
- ✓AI proposes, people with domain knowledge decide

What we learned
Matching takes more than a clever prompt. Frontier models are expensive to integrate into software, and generic models drown in context: they skip exactly the parts that matter and propose overqualified products an estimator would strike straight away. By giving the right context at the right moment and processing technical data sheets in advance, the results got sharper and the cost went down by a factor of four.
